Did Ursula Andress' Beauty Drive James Dean To His Death?

James Dean and Ursula Andress dated for a long time. On the day of James Dean death, he asked Ursula to drive with him to San Francisco in his Porsche 550 Spyder. Ursula told James Dean she was in love with John Derek, and James took off from Los Angeles by himself in his Porsche 550 Sypder and he crashed and died. I imagine this brings up the question of whether Ursula literally drove James Dean to his death!?!

That's Cause You're A Meathead!

Harrison Ford was offered the role to play Mike Stivic "Meathead" on All In The Family, but he passed on playing the role. Hard to imagine!?! What is a Meathead? According to Archie Bunker, it means "dead from the neck up."

When I was a little kid, in the seventies, my Aunt, Dora Jane used to love watching All In The Family, and I fondly remember here once saying "There is a little Archie Bunker in all of us."

Sidney Portier & Harry Belafonte

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Dedication Day

Today, in Washington D.C. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial will be officially dedicated and weather permitting, President Obama is scheduled to give the official commencement speech. The photo below shows Sidney Portier with Harry Belafonte that was taken at the March On Washington in 1963. I have written extensively on Dr. Martin Luther King on Jake's Rolex World and I highly recommend you explore his amazing history.

Star Wars meets Apple

When I was a kid, I remember seeing Star Wars for the first time. I was 10 years old, and it completely blew my mind, and I am certain it caused me to significantly develop my imagination. In other words, when I was 10 I was old enough to understand Star Wars, and young enough to believe what I was seeing. Six years later when I was 16, I met George Lucas at a party in San Francisco, which was interesting.

Also, when I was 16 I decided I wanted to be a designer. In 2004, I met Jonathan Ive at the opening of the Downtown Apple Store. Jonathan is a year younger than I am, so Star Wars probably had the same effect on him as it did me. Today, like Jonathan I also design computer hardware for BulletTrain. It's a small world after all.

The Two Kings Of The British Invasion

Mick Jagger & John Lennon

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, are arguably the two most profound British Rock & Roll bands to come to the U.S. as part of the 1960s British Invasion. John Lennon was arguably the leader of the Beatles as was Mick Jagger with The Rolling Stones. This assortment of historical images of John Lennon and Mick Jagger really show you just how close their friendship was.

This next image of John Lennon and Mick Jagger is from the movie, Rock and Roll Circus, and notice that John and Mick have the EXACT same haircut. Mick also died his hair black, so if it was natural the would have looked even more alike.

One of the most interesting things I noticed in Rock and Roll Circus is how hard John Lennon was rocking out when we was watching the Rolling Stones play live on stage. In other words, John Lennon had to be the Rolling Stones biggest fan!!! This is outstanding because I always assumed there would have been some kind of rivalry, but clearly there was not.
